Shenandoah Valley ArtFest
Call to Artists for SVAF
About the Shenandoah Valley ArtFest
Woodstock Enhancement, in partnership with VECCA (Valley Educational Center for the Creative Arts), Shenandoah County Tourism, and Shenandoah County Chamber of Commerce, is hosting the first annual Shenandoah Valley Artfest in Woodstock, Virginia on Saturday, June 22, 2019. The Shenandoah Valley ArtFest (SVAF) seeks to attract and showcase established and emerging artists alike, from the Shenandoah Valley and beyond. The event will offer our community and visitors the opportunity to view and purchase original artwork in all mediums, and to connect with talented Shenandoah Valley artists.
Call to Artists & Application
The Shenandoah Valley ArtFest is placing a Call to Artists to submit photographs/digital images of representative work through April 1, 2019 to be juried for entry into the ArtFest. The application to participate in SVAF can be found here (PDF). Artists will be chosen and notified by April 15, 2019. Event exhibit options include shared tent space (to be located in/near Court Square in downtown Woodstock), individual tent/canopy spaces (canopy provided by the artist), open air space, or indoor space at select downtown businesses (business owner discretion and availability). The Shenandoah Valley ArtFest event is occurring from 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm. In addition, an artist reception will be held in a VIP area from 8:30 pm – 10:00 pm with complimentary food and drink.
Bike Virginia & Vintage Woodstock Festival
Over the weekend of June 21-23, approximately 1,500 visitors will be in downtown Woodstock for Bike Virginia. Bike Virginia is a 6-day cycling festival with riders from across the US and International locations. Bike Virginia typically hosts cycling tourists in the most historic and scenic regions, bringing economic advantages to the area they are visiting. Bike Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley ArtFest will be hosted alongside the Town's long-standing, annual Vintage Woodstock Festival, creating one seamless event that brings the community together for viewing art, dancing in the street, participating in games for adults and children, and wine, beer, and food trucks for all to enjoy.
